Roofing in Seymour, between Knoxville and the Smokies

Seymour straddles two counties at about 1,200 feet, with Bluff Mountain rising to the south. Storms come over the ridges, and there's no town permit office, so we sort out which county applies to you.

Seymour at a glance

  • A census-designated place across northwest Sevier County and northeast Blount County.
  • 14,705 people at the 2020 census, up from 10,919 in 2010. About 1,211 feet above sea level.
  • Chapman Highway (U.S. 441) runs through it and meets U.S. 411 and Boyds Creek Highway at the four-way in the center.
  • Voters rejected incorporation, so there is no town permit office.

Two counties, one roof

Seymour sits in both Sevier and Blount counties. That means two sets of property records, and which county's rules apply depends on your address. We check the rule for your address and handle any paperwork.

Storms over the ridge

Bluff Mountain, the north end of Chilhowee Mountain, rises to the south. Storms build over the ridges and arrive fast, and wind hits the edges and ridges of a roof first. A drone inspection after a storm shows you those spots without anyone climbing up.

Metal or shingle

Seymour has homes, small farms and cabins. Metal fits some of them well; architectural shingles fit most. We price both at one inspection. See metal roofing.

What we'd do on a Seymour roof

  • A free drone inspection, with photos you keep.
  • The right county permit, handled.
  • A written price, line by line, with metal priced alongside if you want it.
  • Cleanup with a magnet sweep, and a walk-through at the end.

Common questions

Is the drone inspection really free?

Yes. There's no charge and nothing to sign. We fly your roof, take close-up photos of every slope, and go through them with you. The photos are yours whether you hire us or not. If your roof is in good shape, we'll tell you that and leave.

After a storm, should I call my insurance company or a roofer first?

We'd get a free inspection first. It tells you whether there's damage worth a claim before anything goes on your record. If there is, you file the claim with your insurer (it's your claim) and we'll document the damage, write the scope, and meet the adjuster on the roof with you. If there isn't, you've lost nothing but an hour.

Which areas do you cover?

Knoxville and the towns around it: Farragut, Hardin Valley, Karns, Powell, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Lenoir City, Sevierville and Seymour. That covers parts of Knox, Blount, Loudon, Anderson and Sevier counties. If you're just outside that list, text us your address and we'll tell you honestly whether we can get to you.

Do you work on cabins and rental properties?

Yes. We work with cabin owners and rental managers in Sevierville and across Sevier County. We plan around your bookings, send you photos so you don't have to drive in, and quote steep metal and shingle roofs side by side. If you manage several properties, we can inspect them on one trip.
